The Tribes Merge (Sort Of) on ‘Survivor’ Season 47, Episode 6
After Anika was voted out last week, Gata went into the next portion of the game with four players — Sam, Sierra, Andy and Rachel — and so did Lavo with Rome, Genevieve, Teeny and Sol. Meanwhile, Tuku had five players — Caroline, Sue, Gabe, Tiyana and Kyle — remaining.

Since Rachel was the only one who didn’t vote for Anika, she was on the outs with the rest of Gata. Sierra and Sam apologized for leaving Rachel out of the vote and assured her that they wanted to work with her going forward. Luckily, Rachel got to wipe the slate somewhat clean when all the castaways found out they were moving to Tuku beach together. However, it wasn’t the official “merge” just yet.

Once all the contestants came together, they were immediately tasked with a challenge. A message on the beach revealed that they’d be competing in a “grueling challenge to decide who makes the merge.” An advantage was hidden “somewhere” on the beach for someone to find.
At one point, several castaways noticed red paint all over one area near the water well. This stemmed from Sue previously finding an immunity idol that was in a ceramic pot of red paint. Caroline recalled seeing Sue previously having red paint on her face — which Sue claimed to be blood at the time — and quickly realized that Sue was hiding an idol. However, she said she would keep Sue’s secret.
Genevieve noticed a buoy floating in the water and had a feeling that it was something important. After swimming out, she found the advantage attached to the buoy and revealed her findings to the rest of the tribe. This confirmed that the red paint stemmed from something else. Caroline told Sue that she figured out she had an idol because of the paint, but Tiyana was also suspicious, which Sue was wary about.
While talking to Rome, Kyle threw Sam’s name out as the biggest threat to win the game. For the women, he said he was worried about Tiyana and not concerned about Caroline and Sue being threats. Rome went to Sue, Sam and Tiyana with this information to try and build trust with them while also throwing Kyle under the bus. Sol warned Tiyana that this is just “how [Rome] plays this game” and urged her not to trust him. Sol went directly to the source — Kyle — who revealed that Rome was throwing words in his mouth. Kyle then approached a larger portion of the group — including Sue and Tiyana — and put the target on Rome.
Who Won the Immunity Challenge on ‘Survivor’ Season 47, Episode 6?
Jeff Probst revealed that the 13 players would be split into two teams of six. The winning tribe would win a food reward and then have to compete against each other for individual immunity. Only one person would be immune at the next tribal council.

Genevieve’s advantage allowed her to move directly into the individual portion of the challenge while also getting to participate in the food reward.
The reward portion of the challenge required the two teams to complete a grueling course before completing a maze puzzle. The teams were chosen in a schoolyard pick: Sierra, Rachel, Sam, Sue, Kyle and Teeny were on the yellow team, while Rome, Caroline, Andy, Gabe, Tiyana and Sol made up the blue team. Yellow won the challenge.
The yellow team members and Genevieve then competed in the first individual immunity challenge. They had to balance a ball on a wooden bow while standing on a narrow beam. The last person left standing without falling off the beam or their ball dropping was the winner. The challenge came down to Sue and Kyle, with Kyle emerging victorious. This made Kyle the first person confirmed for the official merge. Everyone else would have to battle it out at tribal council, with those surviving the vote making the merge as well.

Who Was Voted Off in ‘Survivor’ Season 47, Episode 6?
Before tribal council, the tribe split into two so the yellow team (and Genevieve) could enjoy their reward. While enjoying the feast, the players on the yellow team came up with a plan to vote for Rome. However, they also wanted a second name as a backup. Sue suggested Andy, which Sam and Sierra said they were on board with, even though they were been working with Andy at Gata.
Back on the beach, the subject of Andy, Caroline and Teeny’s shared amulet idol came up, and Rome’s name was also thrown out. Meanwhile, Rome had to come up with a new plan since Kyle was off the table. He threw out his former Lavo nemesis, Sol’s, name, and Andy took this information back to Sol.
Rome went around camp with his plan and was convinced that everyone was on his side and that he was running the game. Unbeknownst to him, everyone else was planning to vote for him. The group also planned for Sol to vote for Andy in case Rome threw out an idol or advantage.
At tribal, Rome called out Andy, Caroline and Teeny’s amulet and said that it would make the most sense for them to use it at this vote so they wouldn’t have to target each other for more power in the future. The trio did just that and played the amulet for Teeny as a throwaway since she was the one who gave up her vote so they could earn it on the journey.
Everything in the vote went … almost … according to plan. All of the players voted for Rome, except Sol and one other player, who voted for Andy. Rome was so confident that Sol was going home, he wanted to “shake things up” and wound up writing Sam’s name down.
Rome was sent home, but Andy was left in shock, too, when he realized he was the “backup plan” going into the merge.
