Bindi Irwin recently shared a lengthy post with fans, revealing she had undergone various procedures. The daughter of the late Steve Irwin, herself known for her various television appearances, also received various words of support from her family. Bindi also released a follow-up post, where she explained the importance of sharing her story.
Bindi Irwin Shared She Recently Underwent Surgery
Bindi is the daughter of late conservationist and television personality Steve Irwin, also known as “the Crocodile Hunter.” As a young girl, Bindi became the host of her own children’s wildlife series, Bindi the Jungle Girl.
Over the years, Bindi has also become known for a variety of other projects. from acting to appearing in various reality shows. She notably won Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars. Bindi and her family were also the focus of the Australian reality show, Crikey! It’s the Irwins.

Recently on Instagram, Bindi shared a lengthy health update with fans. As she shared, she had undergone multiple surgeries.
Bindi explained, “I am so thankful that I got the help I needed with Dr. Seckin and Dr. Chu at Lenox Hill Hospital. After many months of a grumbly appendix, I finally had to seek help the day of our Steve Irwin Gala.”
“After consulting with Dr. Seckin, we agreed that if I flew to New York, he could also check for endometriosis again. Surgery was a success. My appendix was removed, along with another 14 lesions (after having 37 endometriosis lesions and a cyst removed two years ago).”
While the surgery was successful, Bindi revealed she had to undergo multiple procedures. As she shared, “I also had a repair to a large hernia I acquired through childbirth four years ago. Thankfully, I am on the road to recovery.”

Bindi also took time to thank various members of her family, including her mother, brother Robert, and husband Chandler Powell. She also noted, “I appreciate all the kind messages I’ve received, and the support for our Gala in Las Vegas.”
For their part, Bindi’s family also made sure to send their love in the post, too. Her brother Robert wrote, “Stay strong Bindi! Love you!” Their mother Terri wrote, “Stay strong, sweet Bindi. I love you with all my heart, and I believe every day will be better.” Bindi’s husband, Chandler, also wrote, “Strongest person I know,” complete with a heart emoji.
Bindi ended the post on a hopeful note. As she concluded things, “And rest assured, I’ll see you at the next Steve Irwin Gala in Brisbane this November. One day at a time. Time to heal now. Sending my love to you all.”
Bindi later shared a follow-up post, noting she went back and forth with sharing her endometriosis story with the world. She noted, “I battled for a long time wondering if I should share this journey with you in such a public space. It came down to the responsibility I feel to share my story for other women who need help.”
“I’m aware of millions of women struggling with a similar story. There’s stigma around this awful disease. I’m sharing my story for anyone who reads this & is quietly dealing with pain & no answers. Let this be your validation that your pain is real & you deserve help.”
