According to WSMV, the month-old skunks are aptly named Cheddar, Feta, Havarti, Brie, Fontina, and Munster and will play a key role as ambassador animals in educational programs across various zoos.
Currently sharing the spotlight with the kits are three adult skunks at the zoo named Rosemary, Parsley, and Nutmeg, renowned for their educational contributions. In detailing the skunks' value to the local ecosystem, the zoo emphasized that these striped critters are "natural pest controllers, feasting on ticks, termites, wasps, and more." Williamson Source reports that they prefer using their striking stripes to ward off predators rather than wasting energy on spraying, which, when considered, is quite an energy-efficient way to handle potential conflicts.
