George Stephanopoulos revealed he had a good reason for being over an hour late to the set of Good Morning America on Tuesday, July 29.Stephanopoulos, 64, and the GMA Instagram page shared a joint post explaining that he needed to be rescued by the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) after he found himself stuck inside an elevator on his way to work.The video showed Stephanopoulos stepping down a ladder as the FDNY firefighters helped him. Once he was able to talk away from the scene, he was seen clapping his hands and told the camera, "Only an hour late!"Shortly after the video was shared, several social media users took to the comments section to express how scary the situation could have turned out. "One of my biggest fears is getting stuck in an elevator! Once he made his way to work, Stephanopoulos opened up about the "little surprise" he experience during the event."I was coming into the building with the man who keeps me safe, Richie, and we got into the freight elevator, and got to the second floor — and it just stopped," the anchor recalled. "Just stopped!
