45 MPH Winds, Rain And Snow Wednesday For Chicago Area

ILLINOIS — "Rapidly changing conditions" are expected throughout Wednesday as rain is replaced by strong winds, falling temperatures and even snow showers, according to the National Weather Service.The weather service has issued wind advisories for the Chicago area, including McHenry, Lake, Cook, DuPage, Kankakee, Will, Kane, Kendall, La Salle, Grundy counties, which goes into effect at 2 p.m. until midnight.According to the advisory, wind gusts in excess of 45 mph are expected. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few power outages are possible, the weather service said.Before the wind advisory, waves of rain showers, which could be heavy at times, will continue Wednesday morning, according to the weather service. "Heaviest showers may result in instances of ponding and localized flooding in poor drainage and low-lying areas," the weather service said. Rain will then transition to snow on Wednesday afternoon. The high on Wednesday will be 51 degrees, before dropping into the 20s at night, according to the current forecast. There is also a chance for accumulating snow late Thursday night through Friday evening, the weather service said.
