Donald Trump Asks Supreme Court for Help

The Trump administration on Tuesday asked the Supreme Court to block a judge's ruling that allows migrants to contest their deportations to South Sudan.
The emergency appeal follows a finding by U.S. District Judge Brian E. Murphy in Boston, who ruled that the administration had "unquestionably" violated a prior court order. That order required migrants to be given a chance to object before being deported to a third country where they could face danger—even if they had exhausted other legal options.
The case centers on a deportation flight to South Sudan that included individuals from other nations with U.S. criminal convictions. The government argues the ruling has improperly delayed its efforts to deport migrants who cannot be repatriated to their countries of origin.
