Karmelo Anthony, teen accused of fatally stabbing Austin Metcalf,

Karmelo Anthony, the Texas teen accused of fatally stabbing 17-year-old football star Austin Metcalf, has been moved to an “undisclosed location to ensure his safety” after reportedly receiving death threats while under house arrest.
The 17-year-old suspect’s family said they were “gravely concerned” after being hit with an “alarming increase” in threats and harassment over the weekend, FOX4 reported.
The Next Generation Action Network, who is representing the family, said people have been loitering outside his home, mailing them Metcalf’s obituary and even making false food deliveries in a deliberate attempt to provoke fear and intimidation.

The reps said the court had recently approved the move in order to “ensure his immediate safety.”
“It is both heartbreaking and infuriating to see the depths of hate and bigotry still alive and well in our society,” Dominique Alexander, a minister who works with the group, said in a statement.
“No family should have to live under siege simply because they are demanding their constitutional rights. We will not be silent, and we will not back down,” the statement said.

“We are committed to doing whatever is necessary to protect this family and to ensure that justice is pursued without intimidation or fear.”
Anthony had been holed up inside a gated community in Frisco ever since he was released on bail following his April 2 arrest on a first-degree murder charge over the track meet slaying.
He is accused of knifing Metcalf in the chest after the victim had allegedly asked him to move from underneath his school’s pop-up tent during a rain delay at the meet, according to an arrest report.

“They don’t give a s—t about my family. … about Karmelo Anthony’s family,” Metcalf said.
