Emergency services scrambled to the scene in the early hours of the morning after the horror collision on Market Street in Hemsworth, West Yorkshire.
The Yamaha Delight 125cc scooter the teens were driving hit the sign as it travelled around a right-hand bend near the junction with Tesco just before 1.30am.

“Officers will be supporting his family as we investigate the circumstances of what took place."
He continued: "We have arrested two other males also believed to have been on the bike, and would like to speak to anyone who saw the Yamaha scooter being ridden in the Market Street area or near Tesco’s just before the incident.
