Miami Expects Midweek Heat Wave With 90s Predicted for the Weekend

As NBC Miami reports, the coast will likely remain the most temperate area in the region, though beachgoers should be wary of persisting rip currents.
Looking ahead, wind patterns are expected to gradually slow and shift to a more southerly direction, setting the stage to potentially hit the upper-80s by midweek and with an eye on the 90s come the weekend. "We are forecasting upper-80s for highs as early as midweek and 90s by the weekend," according to NBC Miami. Along with the temperature increase comes a rise in humidity levels, prompting residents to brace for a significant warmup.
Rain, on the other hand, seems to largely stay away from the Miami forecast, with chances lingering around the low 10-20% range. The National Weather Service echoes this prediction, noting a slight 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 pm today, but otherwise mostly sunny skies with a high nearing 83 degrees. Similarly modest chances of precipitation continue through the week with respective drops in likelihood as the nights roll in.
As the weekend approaches, however, the likelihood of showers and thunderstorms is slated to noticeably pick up, with a 40 percent chance predicted for Saturday. Sunday shows a slightly reduced probability for rain, holding at about a 30 percent chance. Regardless of the developing patterns, South Florida is preparing to embrace a typically toasty week ahead, complete with the requisite sunshine and rising temperatures synonymous with the approach of summer.
