“Okay the standard”: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Third Leak of the Day is Disappointing but Expected
Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War is expected to be released later this year and as it draws closer, more leaks are slowly emerging. The gaming community has learned the hard way to keep expectations low for the franchise and the recent leak has proven them right.
It seems like Microsoft is playing it safe with this year’s entry and will be utilizing older concepts that resonated well with the fans like characters, story beats, and even promo art. The publisher wouldn’t risk doing something risky now that the franchise is in murky waters.
The Promo Art of the Next Call of Duty Is Quite Familiar
The Black Ops series of Call of Duty became a favorite among fans.
It is no secret that the last entry in the franchise was a major downgrade and a disappointment. The campaigns of recent Call of Duty games are not as great compared to earlier titles. Modern Warfare 3 let down the entirety of the reboot trilogy with its embarrassingly short length.
Now it seems like the developers couldn’t be bothered at all but some fans are optimistic that Microsoft would redeem the franchise and this is how they go about it. A key art has leaked which is seemingly for the upcoming Call of Duty title.

It may be blurry but anyone who has been playing for the past few years can see the resemblance with the original key art used for Black Ops. Microsoft is using the power of nostalgia to gain traction within the gaming community but is at risk of being viewed as lazy and unoriginal.

Reflecting on the success of previous games is a wise strategy to attract older fans but rumors are circulating that the game will see the return of Raul Menendez. Some fans are not too interested in bringing back older characters and wish the developers would do something new.

Microsoft may be trying its hardest to restore the respectable reputation of the franchise by diving back to its roots and keeping it simple rather than deviating too far. There is a lot of promise for this year’s entry but the developers are leaning towards the zombie content that does appeal to a large portion of the community.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War Could Be the Best Game Yet
Microsoft and Activision have a lot of pressure for this year’s Call of Duty.
It is easy to overlook that the recent entries managed to elevate the series with modern gameplay and physics which adds another layer of realism. Perhaps the developers could apply these improvements to the newer projects.

This is an exciting time to be a fan but there is skepticism surrounding the new regime. Microsoft can take notes but should avoid making carbon copies of older games. Fans are hoping this next installment will bring back the best parts of the beloved series but with a twist.
Activision needs to step up its game for creativity to grab the attention of the community. Microsoft has the rare opportunity to salvage the franchise and take fans on a trip down memory lane. Nostalgia will benefit the franchise if it is executed properly and respectfully.
