Whether they were loved by fans, hailed as instant classics by reviewers or billed as the next big thing, streaming platforms have continued to shock viewers by axing their favourite shows.
TV fans are becoming all too familiar with the disappointment of discovering a perfect show, only for streaming giants to cancel it after just one season.
Kaos and Dead Boy Detectives were met with critical acclaim, yet just as fans got their teeth into to the dramas, fell in love with the characters, and became hooked on the cliffhangers, they were cancelled.
Viewers have claimed that if Jeff Goldblum as the king of he Greek Gods wasn't enough to keep Netflix on board, perhaps nothing can turn the platform's heart of stone.
The platform is renowned for its cut-throat approach to shows and Kaos is just the latest victim of their cull.

Mixing comedy with drama and intrigue, the show is a modern take on Greek and Roman mythology, with the dark comedy centered around Prometheus working with three humans to try and overthrow Zeus after he was punished for trying to interfere his ruling.
The show, which was hailed as an 'absolute triumph' by critics, was released on the streamer on August 29 - with eight episodes in its first season.
According to the outlet, the show was in the top ten charts on Netflix for the first four weeks, reaching number 3.
But it just wasn't enough to convince bosses to renew it for a second season.

Shadow And Bone
Fans were left furious after decided to pull the plug on Shadow and Bone as well as its spin-off Six of Crows after just two seasons.
The young adult fiction novel written by Leigh Bardugo was a smash when it first hit Netflix in 2021.
Despite the scrips scripts being ready to go the series was cancelled as Leigh wrote: 'Most authors never get to see their work adapted. Many who do end up regretting the experience. I'm one of the lucky few who can look at an adaptation with pride and tremendous joy.'
While devastated, the author signed off her post with 'no mourners', although she said 'I'm going to go have a cry, and maybe a drink, and then see where the story takes us next'.

Mindhunter
David Fincher's Mindhunter is generally considered to be the most unjustly cancelled Netflix series ever.
Based on the bestselling 1995 true crime book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit, the psychological thriller followed FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench along with psychologist Wendy Carr as they operate the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit.
Released in 2017, Mindhunter was praised by critics for its cinematic visuals and rich character development and was eventually ranked as one of the best shows of the 2010s.
However, the series was put on indefinite hold shortly after its second season aired in 2019, and in February 2023, Fincher officially confirmed that it had been canceled due to budget concerns and viewership.
