Dean's List eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CTThe Department of Sociology, Anthropology, Criminology and Social Work at Eastern Connecticut State University inducted students into three honor societies this spring 2024 semester. The induction ceremonies included the Alpha Kappa Delta sociology honor society on May 2, the Phi Alpha social work honor society on May 9, and Eastern's inaugural induction of the Alpha Phi Sigma criminal justice honor society on April 30. Among those honored was senior Payton Salvaggio of Suffield, who majors in social work. Salvaggio was inducted into the Phi Alpha honor society for social work.The Department of Psychological Science at Eastern Connecticut State University held its annual Psi Chi honor society induction on April 26. Among those honored was junior Nabeeha Fatima of Suffield, who was inducted into the Psi Chi honor society.Psi Chi, the international honor society for psychology, is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society. Psi Chi functions as a federation of chapters located at more than 800 colleges and universities.The Department of Health Sciences and Nursing at Eastern Connecticut State University held its annual Phi Theta Delta honor society induction on April 24. Among the inductees was senior Morgan Bacon of Suffield, who majors in health sciences.Phi Theta Delta is Eastern's Honor Society for undergraduates in health sciences. In order to be inducted into the honor society, students must have either a junior or senior class standing with a 3.5 GPA in health sciences courses.The women's and gender studies program at Eastern Connecticut State University held its annual Iota Iota Iota (Triota) honor society ceremony on April 19. The ceremony inducted 8 students and distributed an award for academic excellence. Among those honored was Morgan Bacon of Suffield, a senior majoring in health sciences. Bacon was inducted into the Triota honor society.Iota Iota Iota (Triota) is a national honor society for women's and gender studies that was started at Metropolitan State University of Denver in 1985. It has more than 100 chapters. The Greek letter, Iota, was selected for the name to represent the three goddesses Inana, Ishtar and Isis. Triota strives to maintain feminist values that encourage diversity, egalitarianism and supportive academic environments. Eastern's Epsilon Gamma Chapter of Triota celebrated its first induction ceremony in 2019.Regis College, Weston MAChristopher Margiatto, Class of 2025 from West Suffield, received the Pillar of the Community Award during the university's Student Leadership Awards Ceremony, an event that recognizes students who serve in leadership roles on campus, including clubs and organizations, who have made a significant impact on the Regis community over the last academic year. Margiatto was recognized with this award due to his unwavering dedication to academics as well as the Regis community.Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester NHAidan Cauley, Timothy Gurney and Kristen Russell, all of Suffield, were named to the winter 2024 President's List. The winter terms run from January to May. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer. Emily Rose of West Suffield has been named to the winter 2024 Dean's List. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the Dean's List.Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MADavid Fitzgerald of Suffield, a member of the class of 2026 majoring in mechanical engineering, was a member of a student team that recently completed an intense research project titled Enhancing Uptake and Impact of the Sulitest among students. At WPI, all undergraduates are required to complete a research-driven, professional-level project that applies science and technology that addresses an important societal need or issue. About two-thirds of students complete a project at one of the university's 50-plus off-campus project centers, which are located around the world.
