One Dead, Two Hospitalized After Early Morning Traffic Collision in Northwest Miami-Dade
A violent two-vehicle crash has left one man dead and two others hospitalized in Northwest Miami-Dade. The deadly incident occurred early yesterday morning near the intersection of 22nd Avenue and Northwest 79th Street, according to police reports.
First responders from Miami-Dade Police and Fire Rescue units hurriedly responded to the call just after 2 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered one man who had succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A witness, identifying himself as Kenneth, told WSVN that "There was a lady screaming," and he saw one of the cars involved to quickly have sped before the crash. The surviving victims, another man and a woman, were transported to JMH Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition.
As per WSVN, the Miami-Dade Police Department's Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the cause of the collision. Both vehicles, severely damaged, were later removed from the site.
The gruesome aftermath was evident as daylight broke, with emergency crews and investigators working past sunrise. "This car over here ran a red light," Kenneth explained, pointing to the crumpled remains of a dark-colored sedan involved in the accident. According to WSVN, the medical examiner was called to the scene to remove the deceased victim's body.
