‘Nine cars and counting,’ fumes Kroger shopper over long wait times at curbside pickup & watching customers cut the line
A KROGER customer has vented their frustrations after a long wait to get their curbside pickup order.
They said they would have been quicker going into the store and completing their grocery shop themselves.

Kroger, like many competitor stores, offers a curbside pickup service.
Customers can choose to have their groceries brought out to their vehicle by an associate, hopefully saving time spent walking the aisles and picking out their products.
But one shopper recently found that this service saved them no time at all.
Posting on X, they said they were “Sitting at Kroger waiting for my click list for over 40 minutes.
“Watching seven cars (and counting) who got here after us get their groceries and leave.”
“Pretty livid,” they added.
In a follow-up post, they revealed another two cars had since arrived and gotten their groceries before them.
“I could have easily gone in and completed my shopping trip in the time I’ve been waiting,” they said.
Kroger replied: “We’re sorry you have waited so long for your order and hope that you got it shortly after posting.
“This is not what we want for our customers, ad we’d like to investigate.”
Kroger asked the customer to get in touch with more information.
CHECK AGAIN
Customers who prefer to choose their own groceries may also be about to experience longer wait times.
That’s because the store has announced it will implement receipt checks at some locations.
The theft deterrent is a common fixture at Walmart, Costco, and Sam’s Club.
How does curbside pickup work?
Pickup is an online ordering service offered by Kroger and many other grocery stores.
Customers shop online for the products they need and pick up their orders at the store they choose.
Associates will even bring out your purchases and load them into your car.
At Kroger, pickup is free on orders over $35
However, it is unpopular among many shoppers because it slows down their exit from the store.
A lawyer previously told The U.S. Sun that while Walmart and Kroger have the right to ask you for your receipt, you have no legal obligation to show it.
However, the law is different at membership-only stores, such as Costco and Sam’s Club.
Shoppers are legally required to show their receipt upon request.
