NBA Draft: Cumberland's Tyler Kolek joins NY Knicks
NEW YORK (WPRI) — Marquette University star and Cumberland native Tyler Kolek was drafted Thursday by the Portland Trail Blazers, but he won't be heading out west.
CBS News reports that Kolek was immediately traded to the New York Knicks in exchange for multiple second-round picks.

The 6-foot-3 guard played a year at George Mason before transferring to Marquette in 2021. He led the Golden Eagles to NCAA Tournament appearances in the next three seasons, including a Sweet 16 berth this past March, and was named Big East Player of the Year in 2023.
This year's Big East Player of the Year, Providence College guard Devin Carter, will be heading out west after he was selected by the Sacramento Kings in the first round.
