EastEnders spoilers: Mystery deepens as Harvey’s unsettling new friend Maya has a big secret

Recently in EastEnders, Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) expressed her worries about partner Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman), who was feeling a little lonely following Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) and Rocky Cotton’s (Brian Conley) exits.
Thankfully, Harvey connected with a lady called Maya shortly after Jean’s comments about wanting him to make some new friends. She is played by Bharti Patel, best known for her role as midwife Ruhma in BBC One’s Doctors.
In upcoming episodes though, things surrounding the newcomer start to take a mysterious turn.
Once Harvey realises he’s lost Maya’s number, he asks Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) to help find her online.

Maya then arrives in Walford and is furious with Harvey for going through her social media. He apologises and invites her for a drink.
There, Maya tells Harvey that her husband died last year and as they continue chatting, the new friends bond further.
Just as Maya leaves, Harvey realises she’s forgotten her hat. He opens up his phone to message her online, but then realises her social media account has been deleted.
Intriguing.
Later in the week, Harvey feels down at the thought of losing touch with Maya.
Jean offers to take him on a ‘boy’s night out’ with a football theme, hoping it’ll cheer him up, but will it work?
