New state program allows residents to shave 10% off their electricity bills — here's how you can get in on the savings

Southern California residents have a chance to put money back in their pockets with a program that could shave 10% off their electricity bills.
Thanks to the largest community solar project in the state — called Inyokern 1203 — Southern California Edison customers have a new option to save money on their bills while supporting clean energy.
What's community solar?
Community solar delivers savings without the cost of rooftop panels or the hassle of changing energy providers. Instead of installing solar panels at home, you subscribe to a solar farm and save money on your monthly bill through shared solar credits.
Solar farms associated with community solar projects send clean energy back to the grid, reducing pollution and improving overall grid resilience.
Is it reliable?
Every bit as reliable as your current energy provider, yes.
In fact, signing up for community solar doesn't change the way you get your electricity — it just means your bill is reduced thanks to credits from the solar project you're supporting.

How much does it cost?
Trick question — it actually puts money back in your pocket through those shared credits.
With guaranteed savings, no upfront costs, and no cancellation fees, there's no risk for consumers other than the missed opportunity of not signing up.
Who's eligible?
All SCE bundled customers are eligible to join community solar programs, which have already saved residents more than $17 million on utility bills. Exclusions include people with rooftop solar and Community Choice Aggregation participants.
Enrollment is now open for Inyokern 1203, but availability is limited. To learn more about community solar projects in your area, check out this free tool from EnergySage.
