Kane Brown Teases 'Very Powerful' Upcoming Collaboration with Jelly Roll 'About Depression'

A collaboration between Kane Brown and Jelly Roll is in the works!In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Brown teased an upcoming duet with the "Need a Favor" singer centered around mental health, a topic near and dear to both musicians' hearts."I have a song with Jelly Roll, so that's really cool," the 30-year-old country star told the outlet at an event celebrating his latest chart-topper, "I Can Feel It," the lead single from his next album.

"It’s talking about depression and, you know, you could have everything in the world, but as long as you don’t talk to someone about it, you’re still gonna go through those things," explained Brown, describing the song as "very powerful.""I’m blessed to have Jelly on it because he goes through the same thing," continued the "Miles on It" performer.Brown also spoke about feeling as though outsiders looking at the entertainment industry may not realize artists face many of the same mental health struggles as anyone else.

In April, the star's wife Bunnie Xo spoke candidly on her Dumb Blonde podcast about how Jelly left social media due to negative comments about his weight."My husband got off the internet because he is so tired of being bullied about his f---ing weight, and that makes me want to cry, because he is the sweetest angel baby," said Bunnie in a clip shared to her TikTok account. "My husband doesn’t show it to you guys, but I’m going to have a very vulnerable moment here. It hurts him.""The internet can say whatever the f--- they want about you and they say, ‘You’re a celebrity. You’re supposed to be able to handle it.’ No the f--- we’re not," she added. "Enough is enough."

Brown has spoken about his depression struggles before as well, and even released a single, "Memory" with blackbear, on the topic."That was my way of saying 'I go through it as well. You're not alone in the world,'" he told PEOPLE at the time.In a September 2022 interview, Brown explained: "During quarantine when COVID and all that happened, I was in a very dark place. I go through depression and my wife goes through anxiety, so we're perfect for each other," Brown, 28, told Bannen. "Just wondering if any of this is ever going to stop. I'm a worrier."
