Sir Chips died on Wednesday, April 17, at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife of 58 years and their three sons: David, Tobias, and Adam. The British merchant banker only retired from his post as Arsenal chairman for the professional soccer club a few years ago, in 2020, after over a decade on the board. Still, he remained close with several high-profile faces, many of whom showed up to mourn his loss and support his widow, Lady Sarah Keswick. Also in attendance for his memorial service was the queen's sister, Annabel Elliot, as well as her ex-husband, Andrew Parker Bowles, and former English soccer manager Tony Adams. The recent outing by Charles and Camilla came on the same day that Buckingham Palace confirmed the king would be breaking royal tradition yet again during next month's Trooping the Colour event.Instead of arriving at the celebrations on horseback, the palace said Charles will be transported via carriage. The Saturday, June 15, event is one of the handful of royal engagements the monarch has attended since returning to his duties following a brief hiatus as he began treatment for an unspecified type of cancer he was diagnosed with earlier this year.
