Braden Montgomery gets police escort to Charles Schwab Field
Texas A&M is set to take on the College World Series Saturday night, playing their opening game in Omaha against Florida. The Aggies have been one of the best teams in the country this season, partly due to the bat Braden Montgomery has provided them. However, due to a leg injury, Montgomery is out for the rest of the season and will have to watch from the dugout.
Montgomery is in Omaha to support his teammates but had a different mode of transportation to get to Charles Schwab Field. While everyone else took a bus, Montgomery got his own police escort. His leg needed more room than what the bus could provide.

Not too shabby of a ride for the Texas A&M star, getting a nice personal touch. Aggie fans were there to welcome him upon arrival as well, almost receiving the red carpet treatment ahead of Saturday’s first pitch.

This is not the first time Montgomery has ever been to Omaha, making it to the College World Series the previous two years with Stanford. Unfortunately, this will be the first time he is watching from the sideline and not contributing toward the national championship push.
Head coach Jim Schlossnagle says Montgomery has been an incredible teammate during his time in College Station, though. In a time when the star could pout about his injury and not playing, he has instead continued to be amazing to everyone involved in the program.
“The greatest thing about Braden is he’s doven into his teammates,” Schlossnagle said on June 8. “This hasn’t been a transactional relationship for him in terms of him, coming here, being a great player. Us, providing him an opportunity to showcase himself in the SEC and then moving on. It’s been transformational for everyone involved.”
In just a few weeks, Montgomery will hear his name called at the 2024 MLB Draft. Even with the injury, he is expected to be one of the top players selected after a dazzling season at Texas A&M. A franchise will be getting a great hitter once fully recovered.
But for now, it’s all about supporting Texas A&M for their entire CWS stay. Things get underway against Florida, hoping to start out in the winner’s bracket.
