The Metropolitan Police Department has reported the arrest of Marquis Hill, 31, of Northwest D.C., following a burglary that occurred in the 2100 block of 14th Street, Northwest. The MPD's official release states that the incident took place at approximately 4:15 a.m.
Knocking over a business on 14th Street, the suspect was said to have forcefully gained entry to the establishment, grabbing property before making an escape, according to police reports. In a response that promptly followed the crime, officers canvassed the local area. The manhunt ended with locating Hill who was then placed under arrest by the responding officers.
The police department's detectives conducted an investigation which led them to charge Hill with Burglary Two. This break-in is just one of several recent incidents that have put local businesses on high alert, and the successful apprehension may provide some relief to the community.
