Woman Arrested in Connection with String of Armed Robberies Across Oakland County
A string of armed robberies by a lone woman unfolded in Oakland County on Wednesday night, leading to multiple 911 calls and her eventual arrest. According to CBS News Detroit, the first call came at approximately 8:40 p.m. from an employee at Twin Beach Market on Green Lake Road. The suspect is alleged to have entered the store with a pistol and left with cash.
The same woman appears to have been involved in other robberies in the area, with subsequent calls describing similar incidents in both West Bloomfield and Orchard Lake. One such call reported the firing of at least two shots, originating from a CVS Pharmacy located on Maple Road.
Police officers located the armed suspect in the CVS parking lot soon after the incident, leading to her arrest. As detailed by ClickOnDetroit, officials believe she acted independently, with no current threat to public safety. No injuries have been reported from any of the incidents.
The investigation continues, and authorities are encouraging anyone with information about the robberies to come forward. Detective Phil Pacheco of the West Bloomfield police can be reached at 248-975-8905, and Detective Michael Clement at 248-682-2400, for details about Orchard Lake, as per WWJ Newsradio.
