Kingdom Come Deliverance II’s ambitions reduced due to Series S

Back in April, the team at Warhorse Studios officially announced Kingdom Come: Deliverance II – a sequel to their highly-successful debut title from 2018. Though little was shared at the time, we now have some technical details on how the game will perform on consoles: offering a single 30fps option across all systems – as well as an overall reduction in scope due to the Series S.
As reported on the Czech website Zing.cz (and translated by WCCFTECH), during a recent developer presentation, the team at Warhorse Studios revealed that the upcoming Kingdom Come: Deliverance II had its scope pulled back a bit due to the Xbox Series S – whose 10 GB of RAM has meant that the sequel can only be 25% ‘bigger’ than the first game.

Even with a reduced scope, KC:DII appears to be a meaty game, with producer Martin Klíma revealing that the PS5 and Series X versions will be run at just 30fps – with no performance mode offered. That said, the higher-tier consoles will be outputting at 4K, with the Series S version being reduced to 1440p.
For pretty much the entire console generation, almost all games released have either run at 60fps by default, or offered some sort of enhanced performance mode. As games tap into the hardware of the current-gen systems however, it appears as though we will be getting an increasing number of 30fps titles.
KitGuru says: What do you think of this reveal? Are you disappointed? What are your overall thoughts on the Series S? Let us know down below. The post Kingdom Come Deliverance II’s ambitions reduced due to Series S first appeared on KitGuru.
