Victoria did an Ask Me Anything on Reddit after her win against James and Yogesh Raut.
Fans asked the Jeopardy! champion everything from fashion advice to what books they should read to questions about her game play.
One Reddit user asked a series of questions and Victoria answered them all.
The one that stuck out the most was “What’s one special or funny behind-the-scenes Masters interaction that hasn’t been mentioned in an interview yet?”
Victoria answered with, “Both Mattea and James will immediately lie down on the stage every time there’s a stopdown. It’s brilliant.”
She faced both of them during game 6 of the Masters Tournament.
A confused Reddit user replied to Victoria.
“What is a stopdown and why do they lie down?” they wanted to know.
However, Victoria did not reply to them, so they never got their answer.
MASTER OF THE GAME
While Victoria is good at playing Jeopardy! and answering questions, she is also good at giving advice.
On the same Reddit Ask Me Anything, she reveals the strategy she uses and the study tips one should follow if they want to win the game.
A Reddit user asked how Victoria “studied for her game and which techniques she used to absorb knowledge.”
“So I think by FAR the most important thing is to tap into a community of people who play stuff,” she replied.
Victoria also told fans that she joined various online quiz communities to help practice.

“Like, I’m doing quiz stuff now because I had friends who did it on the regular who lived near me, and that hooked me up with a lot of people that I felt comfortable with and connected to and got me excited about stuff,” she said.
“Joining OQL [Online Quiz Community] or something like it probably is the quickest and easiest way to do that—it’s open-entry, they’ll match you up with teammates.”
Victoria said that she knows she has gaps in her knowledge and revealed what she does to try and fix that.
“Taking the time to let things sink in and being patient is important; there’s only so much you can learn at one time. To me, I find it kind of liberating that I CAN’T learn everything; it’s literally not a possible thing,” she said.
Jeopardy! Universe
Jeopardy! first aired in 1964 until 1975. Then the nighttime version began in 1974. Since then, spinoffs of the game show have emerged. Here they all are:
Jeopardy! – (primetime) 1974 to present, weekdays on ABC at 7pm.
Tournament of Champions – 1984 to present, features the top champions who have appeared on the show since the last tournament.
Celebrity Jeopardy! – 1992 to present, has celebrities compete against each other to raise money for charity.
Jeopardy! Masters – 2023 to present, features six notable recent Jeopardy! champions competing against each other.
Jeopardy! National College Championship – 2022 to present, undergraduates from 36 colleges and universities across America compete to win $100,000.
Other versions of Jeopardy! have fizzled out throughout the years.
“In general you also want to go from broad to narrow on fields you don’t know much about.”
She said if there is something she does not know about, she will do basic research first and then go deeper into it.
GROCE UNDER FIRE
When asked about her speed on the buzzer, Victoria revealed that she has a lot of practice.
“I have both a LOT of musical training on instruments involving finger dexterity (piano and harp, mostly) and have played a LOT of video games over the course of my life,” the champion shared on Reddit.
“(That) couldn’t have been anything but helpful.”
Victoria said that she has logged over 10,000 on rhyme games.
It takes mastering 10,000 of anything to become an expert at it.
Victoria revealed that she did a lot of quiz games when she was younger, which helped her out a lot on the game show.
