Vienna's Yellow Diner To Become Carnegie Diner: Report
VIENNA, VA — The transformation of a former bank into a yellow-centric restaurant was short lived in Vienna.Yellow Diner at the Village Green shopping center (501 Maple Avenue West) is closed as it passes to new owners, the restaurant first shared with the Vienna VA Foodies Facebook group. Yellow Diner, a concept from the Nostos Restaurant owners, had first opened in April at the former Suntrust Bank location. According to Vienna VA Foodies, the Yellow Diner owners sold the restaurant to family who owns Carnegie Diner in New York and New Jersey. The new diner is expected to have expanded hours and a larger menu. "Throughout this process we have heard your comments about the need in Vienna for a classic/more traditional diner that is open 7 days a week and with longer hours so we have decided to pass this along to friends and family in NY to do just that," the Yellow Diner owners shared with patrons.Carnegie Diner, which is not affiliated with Carnegie Deli, has two locations in New York City and one outside the city in New Jersey. The restaurant offers breakfast, brunch, dinner, drinks and happy hour.The restaurant is closed due to renovations and training as it becomes Carnegie Diner.
