Car Chase, Stolen Vehicle At Short Hills Mall; Police Report Arrests
MILLBURN, NJ — Millburn police recently arrested two people at the Mall At Short Hills, with one of them leading officers on a car chase, and the other driving a stolen vehicle, authorities reported Monday.The Millburn Police Department released the following details about the incidents:Sept. 20 – Millburn police officer Sweeney attempted to stop a 2021 white Mercedes Benz at the Mall At Short Hills for an expired license plate. The driver refused to stop and eluded the police and fled from the mall. Officer Sweeney pursued the vehicle, but shortly after had to terminate due to safety concerns. Two days later, the same vehicle and driver were back at the mall. Millburn police officer Griffin attempted to stop the vehicle, however it again refused to stop and attempted to elude the police, and exit the mall property. This time the driver got stuck behind traffic and multiple Millburn police officers were able to arrest the subject. Aaron Miranda, 25, of Elizabeth, was charged with two accounts of eluding police and multiple motor vehicle violations.”Sept. 22 – “Millburn Sgt. Christopher DeRosa located a 1994 Toyota Corolla parked at the Mall at Short Hills with a stolen Connecticut license plate attached to it. The male driver attempted to leave in the vehicle, when it was stopped by several police units. The investigation led to the arrest of Courtney Harrison, 32, of Clermont, Florida.
