NEW JERSEY - A rainy spring weekend is possible ahead of sustained summer-like temperatures next week, forecasters said.Friday’s dry forecast will remain mostly cloudy with daytime highs near 70 degrees, the National Weather Service said. A rip current statement is in effect for Monmouth and Ocean counties through Friday evening. The first possible round of light rain is expected Saturday morning, most likely in South Jersey, the weather service said. Temperatures Saturday will range between high 50s to high 60s, with the coolest mercury readings set to be closer to the coast.Sunday will be decidedly warmer with highs in the low 70s and partly sunny skies, the National Weather Service Mount Holly station said in a Friday X post. “A few showers” are possible, but “most places should remain dry,” the weather service added.As we wrap up this week, Friday should be dry with even some sunshine making an appearance.
