Colorado Buffs Alum Confident in Victory Over ‘Same Nebraska Team,’ Despite Dylan Raiola’s Impact
It’s like watching the Jedi go up against the Dark Side. But the problem is, we just don’t know who is what. Buffs vs Cornhuskers are turning into this big thing and we are all in for it. Deion Sanders has locked in and we know Coach Prime ain’t gonna lose the Nebraska rivalry. However, we also know that Matt Rhule won’t make it easy. Still, you gotta keep in mind that this ain’t the same Buffs y’all had witnessed a year back. Deion Sanders has changed the team, so it makes sense why Matt McChesney is so confident regarding the game.
Back on the Coach JB Show on September 7th, Matt makes it very clear that Nebraska stands no chance. “It’s pretty much the same team (Nebraska) that they had last year, with the exception of a rookie quarterback going up against the best quarterback in the country,” Matt mentioned. You gotta keep in mind that Deion has defeated the Cornhuskers 3 times before. Last year, even though the Buffs had a crippled offense and the defense was useless, they still managed to secure a massive 36-14 win over the Cornhuskers. While Matt Rhule has got a freshman QB who managed to shock people during the Miners opener game, he is still going up against Shedeur Sanders. Shedeur and Travis Hunter showcased some solid chemistry on the turf, and they will do it again.

While Dylan Raiola made his mark with the 2 TDs and an amazing run, he will turn it over for the Buffs. Deion made sure that before the season hits, Shedeur is over the ghosts of his pasts. We saw how the dude managed to lock in almost every single pass without any hesitation. He did not hold on to the football for too long and took his shot whenever he had the chance. Raiola is good, but he is not good enough. However, there is still one thing that can save Rhule.
The O-line ain’t stepping up to Shedeur Sanders’ level
Interestingly, Matt McChesney, back on September 3rd, pointed out something important. “When do you think the rest of the offense catches up and matches those?” Matt had asked. This was a jab at the O-line, not playing on the same level as Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, or Jimmy Horn Jr. While we did see Jordan Seaton do exceptionally well, the remaining boys on the offensive line were average at best.
This makes the Buffs’ midfield game quite weak. We saw how Bisons QB Cam Miller managed to slip past every time the game was on the midfield. The only way Rhule can actually grab a win and take revenge for the 2023 season slaughter is if he exploits this weakness. However, this is CFB and nothing is set in stone. We are gonna see who comes out on top soon.
