Oregon Gets Its Shot With On300 OT Ziyare Addison
Oregon has gotten off to a bit of a slower start with offensive line recruiting in the 2025 class, but A’lique Terry and company are pursuing plenty of top-tier talent in the trenches.
This weekend the Ducks will have another chance to make a big impression on Tampa (Fla.) Sumner offensive tackle Ziyare Addison, who will hop on a plane for his cross-country official visit to Oregon.
The On300 tackle has already taken a trio of official visits to UCLA, Georgia and Florida. He’ll be joined in Eugene by his parents, his younger sister and his Uncle.
“I’m looking forward to them (Oregon) going more in detail with the program,” he said in anticipation of the trip. “I’m looking forward to going to the medical program, so I’m looking forward to seeing that part aspects the program.”
Addison is hoping to see plenty of energy from the coaching staff, as his previous trips have left a strong impression.
“Just seeing how they’re gonna come, and how they’re gonna come with the same energy that these last three schools have came with. ‘Cause the energy levels that Georgia and UCLA and Florida came with was out of this world. I wanna see if they’re able to match that or surpass that.”
The Florida product also hopes to take a deep dive into game film with Coach Terry and learn more about his plan to develop him at Oregon.
He released a top twelve that included Oregon back in March and there are a handful of reasons why the Ducks are a contender.
“Oregon, they’ve been recruiting me since I was a sophomore,” Addison said. “I was around 250-255ish when they offered me. They took an opportunity on me real early, earlier than everybody else. I have a great relationship with (A’lique) Terry, Coach Coby (Sayyah) and of course Coach (Dan) Lanning, those my guys up there.”
Addison Confident in A’lique Terry, Oregon’s Direction
“I feel like Coach Terry can develop, even as a young coach. He’s been up for the Joe Moore award for the last year or two. I want to be under a coach that’s been up for the Joe Moore award his first two years as O-Line coach. He’s only 29 years old as well so I believe he’ll be there for forever. Them moving to the Big Ten, they’re gonna competing for a national championship this year. There’s a lot of upside with Oregon, Penei Sewell went there as well.”
The Ducks have a chance to create some separation from their competition this weekend, and the offensive lineman is hoping to see one thing in particular from Dan Lanning and Oregon moving forward.
“I just want them to not just recruit me but recruit my parents. Show them why Oregon’s the best fit for their child to be for the next three to four years. That’s probably the biggest thing, for them to build a relationship with not just me.”
Looking at the rest of June, Addison will continue his travels with official visits to Penn State on June 14 and Florida State on June 21. He’s also expected to visit Ohio State June 18 through June 20, likely for an official visit.
June will be an important month as he works toward a decision and he gave the latest on his timeline.
“Finish line is August for sure,” he said. “I’m getting to the meats and bones of my recruiting process now. Taking all these visits and make sure that these schools want to go to. Just checking out every school I can with the time I have before I commit and just seeing where home is really.”
Heading into that decision, it doesn’t seem like distance will be a factor for one of the best in the Sunshine State.
“I took a visit all the way to LA, I don’t care about distance. As long as I get the best development, the best education and they have the best three year plan for me to go to the league I’m willing to go to whatever program.”
