Gun, Bomb Threat at Borgata Proves False

By LYNDA COHEN, BreakingAC
Atlantic City police found no valid threat after a man claimed to have firearms and an explosive device inside the Borgata Casino Hotel and Spa.
A man called the police non-emergency number at 3:55 p.m. Thursday making the threat, Capt. Kevin Fair said.
Police responded in force, sweeping the area with help from Borgata security.
No suspicious individuals or devices were located.
Portions of the building were briefly evacuated in an abundance of caution, Fair said.
Rumors spread quickly, leading Fair to put out a release while the investigation was ongoing to say, “There is no active shooter.”
Patrons have been allowed back into the building and police cleared the scene by 7 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 609-347-5766. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
