Meg Ryan Reportedly Furious With Dennis Quaid for Trying to Steal Jack Quaid’s Success Credit: ‘She was the one who picked up the phone and pitched Jack’

Meg Ryan is not here for Dennis Quaid riding the wave of their son Jack Quaid’s success, and it seems she’s had enough. The When Harry Met Sally star reportedly feels like Quaid is trying to steal the credit for Jack’s big break, but Ryan’s the one who actually made the key call to launch his career. Rumor has it she’s furious, reminding everyone that she was the one hustling behind the scenes, pitching Jack for roles while Quaid was more of a bystander.

Dennis Quaid might want to rethink his game plan. The actor’s son, Jack Quaid, was soaring in Hollywood with roles in Oppenheimer, Scream, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. But amidst Jack’s growing success, sources say Meg Ryan was livid over Dennis taking credit for their son’s achievements.
According to an insider, Ryan was peeved that Quaid was claiming he helped Jack get where he is. Emphasizing Ryan’s decade-long dedication to supporting Jack’s career, the source revealed,
Anybody who knows Meg knows she is the one who put about a decade into helping Jack become a sought after actor and a bona fide TV star. It’s still tough for Meg and Dennis to have a polite conversation about anything…When nobody cared about this kid or even wanted to meet with him, Meg was the one who picked up the phone and pitched Jack to her contacts, not Dennis.
It’s absolutely absurd to see Dennis take any credit for Jack’s success when Meg was fully the architect of it and put her own interests aside to help Jack get on his feet in Hollywood, starting more than ten years ago.
The insider added that when no one was interested in Jack, it was Ryan who pitched him to her industry contacts, not Dennis. Dennis, however, had his own narrative. He claimed he tried to help Jack land an agent but faced rejection. Jack loved acting at a “very, very, very young age” he told Kelly Clarkson, recalling Jack’s early filmmaking endeavors. Ryan had her own moment of realization when she watched Jack shine in a middle school play, knowing he was destined for stardom.

Despite their past marriage and the drama, both parents were proud of Jack, who preferred to forge his path without leaning on their advice. As Dennis noted, “We got Jack Quaid out of it, who is really going on to maybe I think eclipse both of us.” For now, it seems Ryan remains the unsung hero of Jack’s rising star.

Meg Ryan just snagged the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo at the Sarajevo Film Festival, and the vibe was all about celebrating her epic contributions to the film world. She was in good company, alongside fellow legends like directors Alexander Payne and Elia Suleiman and actor John Turturro. Festival director Jovan Marjanović asserted,
It’s an award in recognition of outstanding contribution to the world of cinema, to her incredible talents.
For a fun throwback, Ryan screened her classic rom-com You’ve Got Mail, bringing it back to the same spot where it premiered back in ’99. During a chill masterclass with Oscar-winner Danis Tanovic, she opened up about her latest project, What Happens Later, which she directed and starred in with David Duchovny. She reflected on her start in acting, saying, “I had a beginner’s mind, which I see now as a very valuable thing.” The festival this year showcased 240 films, proving its place as a must-see event since its launch during the Bosnian war.
