Stamford Reps. Censure Member For 'Insensitive Remarks': Report
STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Board of Representatives voted to censure Rep. Carl Weinberg (D-20) this week for comments he made in a Stamford Advocate op-ed, as well as for other "insensitive remarks" in public meetings and online, according to the Advocate. The vote was 19 in favor, 14 opposed with two abstentions.In a February piece published by the Advocate, Weinberg said some Stamford Democrats have emulated "the ruling pigs" in George Orwell's book "Animal Farm."A resolution to censure Weinberg from March said he should attend sensitivity training, but it was amended Wednesday after fellow members volunteered to join Weinberg, the Advocate reported.Read more from Stamford Advocate on the censure vote.The article Stamford Reps.
