Why do you want to be on the West Point School Board?
I would like to run again to continue to set, shape and meet goals for our school division, and continue to make sure our funds are being used effectively. I enjoy being a voice for our children. Sometimes our kids are not heard.
What is the biggest priority facing the school board right now?
Braxton has previously said that safety was a big goal and that she would keep the school division safe.

Why do you want to be on the West Point School Board?
I would like to be on the school board because I want to be a voice for the parents and children. I want to be the bridge between the schools and our community. I am a firm believer in communication, and at this point in time the communication is lacking. I am a person who is not afraid to start those awkward, uncomfortable conversations that others shy away from. Because when we have those conversations we are actually, finally talking! Both sides need a voice and they need someone who is willing to listen to hear, understand, and do the work to make West Point Schools a place where EVERYONE has the equal opportunity to thrive and excel. When we communicate and work together great things happen.
What is the biggest priority facing the school board right now?
The biggest priority facing the school board right now is to gain back the trust of the parents and the community. I think that right now the perception of the school board is that it’s them vs. us, and that’s not at all how it is, but perception becomes reality. I am not political in any way, shape or form, but I think that I can help fix that perception by being myself and not being shy to say what’s needed to be said and break down the defensive walls on both sides. I think there is a population of parents and children that are screaming for someone to help them be heard, and I think the school board feels that no one acknowledges their efforts in trying to get things going in the right direction.

Why do you want to be on the West Point School Board?
I have served as a parent on the West Point Public Schools Special Education Advisory Committee for the last three years. This committee is a combination of parents, teachers and school administrators. We work together to target areas of need and put together action plans on how to help the teachers and most importantly the students. I have a passion for special education and I hope to be a bigger voice for them on the school board. I want every child to get the most out of their education and the teachers to have the necessary resources to provide it.
What is the biggest priority facing the school board right now?
I think growth is our biggest priority right now. As our community continues to grow, we will need a school board ready to take on the challenging task of providing our community with the exceptional level of education that keeps families here and brings new ones in.
