TARRYTOWN, NY — A Yonkers man is facing felony charges after state troopers say he was drunk behind the wheel with four kids in the car. At 1:46 a.m. on Sunday morning, New York State Police troopers stopped a gray Toyota on I-87 southbound, near Exit 9 in the Village of Tarrytown. The driver, identified as Fernandez Urena, exhibited signs of intoxication, according to police. The 34-year-old failed standardized field sobriety tests, according to troopers, who said four children, ages 12, 11, 7, and 5, were also in the car at the time. Urena was arrested and taken for processing, where he provided a breath sample with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.12 percent, according to NYSP.Urena was charged with four counts of felony aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger (Leandra's Law). He was also charged with first offense driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher, and traffic violations.
