Beyond Paradise season 4 confirmed by BBC with exciting update on production

Beyond Paradise has been renewed for a fourth season on BBC One, with filming having now kicked off on the new instalment.Fans of the Death in Paradise spin-off series can rest easy in the fact that a new season is at last on its way after they were left on tenterhooks about the show's future. While the BBC hasn't confirmed a release date for season 4, the news of the series officially returning to filming will undoubtedly get fans excited for what's to come.Sharing a picture of the Beyond Paradise clapperboard to their Instagram, the show's official account wrote: "We’re back in Shipton Abbott! Filming has begun this week on the brand-new series of #BeyondParadise."Expect plenty of puzzling twists and turns as the team gear up for another series full of mystery, humour, and heart on the sunny shores of Devon and Cornwall."
The series follows DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) after the events of his Death in Paradise stint, finding him in the quirky Devon town of Shipton Abbott, where a wide range of perplexing cases cross his desk.Much like its parent show, Beyond Paradise has been an instant hit, losing no momentum in its third season as viewers continue to be charmed by its larger-than-life personalities and comical moments – as well as its more dramatic storylines. It was more recently reported that filming on season 4 had started in Cornwall, with a fan account seemingly confirming the news. Now, with the official confirmation from the show's social media accounts, we can start to really get excited.Beyond Paradise also follows the ups and downs in Humphrey's relationship with longtime partner Martha (Sally Bretton), with the pair recently been taking care of foster children after experiencing heartbreaking fertility issues.
"That's a different form of challenge for them because you never know how long a placement will be," explained Marshall, in an interview with RadioTimes.com. "You're constantly on tenterhooks."He continued: "And then... the more they invest in it, the more you hope it's going to be permanent, maybe, and obviously that brings its own challenges too."If you've been enjoying this latest chapter in the so-called Paraverse (also including Aussie spin-off Return to Paradise, which is currently filming season 2), then you can rest assured that there is plenty more to come.Read more: Ted Lasso and Magpie Murders stars in first-look images for BBC's new Lynley adaptationDoctor Who favourite Billie Piper speaks out on "last-minute" regeneration scene and how it was "very emotional to film"The BBC's confirmation of the show's future comes months after season 3 reached its finale, and follows unconfirmed reports (via TV Zone) that the Beyond Paradise cast and crew would be returning to set in July. With that timeline unfolding as planned, the show will most likely be back on our screens for its usual springtime slot, commencing one week after the Death in Paradise finale. In addition to Marshall and Bretton, the Beyond Paradise cast also includes Zahra Ahmadi (EastEnders), Dylan Llewellyn (Big Boys), Felicity Montagu (Alan Partridge) and Barbara Flynn (Kate & Koji).Beyond Paradise is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
