Some of the most high-profile celebrities made their grand entrances at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday for the Met Gala. They wore the most elegant – and most unusual – of designer gowns and wardrobes during what is fashion’s biggest night.
The dress code for the 2024 Met Gala was “The Garden of Time” — which is inspired by J.G. Ballard’s 1962 short story that features the beauty and eventual destruction of a garden of flowers. That meant plenty of floral and botanical-inspired attire.
No, Taylor Swift did not attend after much speculation. But there were plenty of other A-listers, including Ariana Grande, Cardi B, Jack Harlow, Shakira and members of the Kardashian-Jenner family.
Co-chairs of the event – Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez and Zendaya – were among the first to arrive. Sydney Sweeney surprised with jet-black hair. Lana Del Ray wore a veiled crown of branches that stretched the length of her dress. Lea Michele showed off a baby bump.
And Doja Cat, one year after dressing as a cat, wore a revealing water-drenched gown.
