Woman Charged In ‘Suspicious Powder’ Throwing Incident At Mall: PD
MERIDEN, CT — A Meriden woman has been arrested in connection with the “suspicious powder” throwing incident at the Meriden Mall on Thursday, according to police.Emergency crews responded around 12:45 p.m. to Windsor at the Meriden Mall, at 470 Lewis Avenue, after a customer threw a powdery substance at them, according to police. Windsor is a retail store that specializes in women’s clothing and on-trend fashions.The employee was reported to have eye irritation and felt like their throat was closing up, police said.The victim was taken to MidState Medical Center for further observation and treatment, according to police. The victim was reported to be in stable condition, police said on Thursday.The Connecticut Department of Emergency Protection, CT State Police Bomb Squad and the FBI responded and assisted with the identification and collection of the powdery substance, according to police.Cindy Luzunaris, 42, was arrested Thursday night on charges of first-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault. She was released after posting a $100,000 bond with a court date of May 30.Lt.
