Supervisors Of The Checklist Of Salem Meet Oct. 26
SALEM, NH — The Supervisors of the Checklist of Salem will be in Session between 9 and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, on the lower level of the Municipal Office Building to register new voters for the upcoming New Hampshire State General Election.Residents of Salem who will be 18 years of age by Nov. 5, may register to vote at this session with acceptable documentation. New Hampshire election law does however, allow a person to register to vote at the polls if they present required documentation. A picture ID and proof of domicile is required. (A driver’s license is acceptable.) Naturalized citizens must show a passport or documented citizenship papers.Residents may also register to vote with the Town Clerk at any time during regular office hours through Friday, Oct. 25.The law requires that voters cast their ballots at the polling area where they are listed on the checklist, so it is advisable to make an address change beforehand at either the Municipal Office Building or at the session of the Supervisors on Oct. 26. If voters arrive at a polling location different from the one listed on the checklist, they may be asked to go to their original polling place. Copies of the current voter checklist are available to view at the Kelley Library reference desk and at the Town Clerk’s office.Submitted by Kelly Anne DortonaThe article Supervisors Of The Checklist Of Salem Meet Oct. 26 appeared first on Salem, NH Patch.
