BLUE POINT, NY — A pedestrian was struck by a train in Blue Point late Wednesday night, Long Island Railroad officials announced on X, fka Twitter.The incident took place around 9:50 p.m. and the injured person was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to Local Accident Reports. The outlet reported the extent of the injuries remains unknown, but said that medical support was promptly provided.The incident caused a suspension in service between Sayville and Patchogue on the Montauk Branch, the LIRR said.
