All the Canonical Donald Trumps on ‘South Park’
Kenny McCormick has died and respawned countless times, but Donald Trump may still be the most canonically baffling character in all of South Park.In response to recent criticisms claiming that South Park never pokes fun at the left, which is almost too dumb to dignify with a response, a viral social post pointed out that there have been four different iterations of Trump, each rendered in a totally different animation style. Businessman Trump (Season Five)
A more straightforward caricature of Trump can be seen briefly in Season Five’s “The Entity,” when Mr. Garrison pitches his highly-suggestive gyroscopic airline alternative to a panel of super-rich guys. A pre-Apprentice Trump is seated in the front row, sandwiched between Ted Turner and Bill Gates. “Sweet!” the animated Trump declares as the invention is revealed. The Canadian President (Season 19)
As we’ve mentioned before, in the episode “Where My Country Gone?,” Mr. Garrison becomes fed up with Canadian immigrants and journeys to the Great White North. He discovers that the mass Canuck exodus is due to the dictatorial rule of a blatant Trump analogue, who has erected a border wall between the two countries. While he has a flapping head like other South Park Canadians, the “Canadian President” unmistakably has Trump’s trademark combover, just waiting to be playfully tussled by “Canadian Jimmy Fallon.”The less said about what ultimately happens to this version of Trump, the better. Despite Kyle’s warnings, Mr. Garrison’s solution to the problems created by the Canadian Trump is to become America’s President Trump, running against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election on a campaign of xenophobia and petty rage. But she is somehow unable to defeat the candidate, who flat out admits “I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing.” This ended up completely upending the show’s season premiere. Trump/Saddam (Season 27)
The new, headline-grabbing iteration of Trump is patterned off of the show’s old Saddam Hussein character, hence his photographic face, toxic relationship with the literal devil and Canadian accent, owing to Saddam’s origin as a Terrance and Phillip villain.Deepfake Trump (Season 27)
While canonically-tied to the Saddam-coded Trump, “Sermon on the ‘Mount” ends with an apparently A.I.-generated, nude Trump, starring in a PSA that finds him wandering through a desert with only his talking micropenis for company.Thankfully, the dick has googly eyes, making it a “character” who therefore is not too obscene for television.
