How spraying your curtains is the key to keeping cool this weekend – and you shouldn’t open your windows either
WITH the weather hotting up this weekend it can be really tempting to fling the windows open to let in a little fresh air.
However, experts warn that this may not be the best way to cool down – in fact they suggested keeping them closed.

Catherine Grayson from A-Plan Insurance says those suffering from the heat should keep curtains and blinds closed during the day.
This will ensure any sunlight is deflected back out of the window, reducing a surprising amount of heat during the day.
It is also a great tip if you suffer from hay fever and want your home to be a pollen-free zone.
Those who can’t stand having the windows closed should try spritzing their curtains with water.
According to Reader’s Digest this should be done on days when it’s hot and breezy as air blowing on the hot drapes will cause the water to evaporate and cool the room.
Although those really suffering should be warned that the weather is likely to cool off as large parts of the UK are set to be hit by thunderstorms tomorrow.
Today will be fine and warm once the low cloud has cleared away, according to the Met Office, but it has issuedyellow weather warnings for thunderstorms on Sunday.
The first covers central and western parts of Northern Ireland with the warning in place from 11am until 7pm.
Heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms are predicted along with a “small chance” of flooding.
Meanwhile a second warning starts at midday and lasts until 10pm.
This covers most parts of western England, the vast majority of Wales and stretches down to the southern coast.
The warning states: “Heavy showers and thunderstorms could lead to some disruption in places, especially to travel. Isolated property flooding is possible.”
Later on Saturday morning the Met Office has also issued a third yellow weather warning for thunderstorms which covers a large chunk of Scotland.
The latest warning is in place from 2pm on Sunday and is ongoing until 4am on Monday.
Today though, fog patches and low cloud first thing will soon clear away, leaving a fine and very warm day.
Coastal parts could see some mist return as the day goes on.
Some parts could see scattered showers in the afternoon and there is a possibility of isolated thunderstorms across Scotland, mostly over higher ground.
Temperatures could hit 25C later today.
It will remain dry this evening in most parts and any showers in Scotland will clear away.
