EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Each week in the fall, we bring you high school football scores and highlights from around our area on the Friday Night Blitz.
And new this year — we want you to get involved.
Voting is now open for the Blitz 12 Player of the Week.
This week's nominees are:
Johnston QB Matthew Clements, who threw five touchdown passes in a win over Chariho.
Cumberland QB Evan Spencer, who scored four total touchdowns.
Bishop Hendricken QB David Lynch, who led his team to a 24-7 win over La Salle.
Voting closes at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Be sure to check back to find out the winner, then we'll have an interview with the Player of the Week this Friday on 12 News at 6, 10 and 11 p.m.

The Week 1 winner was Burrillville QB Logan Gelinas, followed by Classical RB Jordan Duke in Week 2 and St. Raphael RB Damien Ocampo in Week 3.

Here’s how the Blitz 12 Player of the Week works:
🏈 Saturday-Wednesday: Open voting period for Blitz 12 Player of the Week. Voting begins Saturday after the last high school games conclude and closes Wednesday at 7 p.m.
🏈 Monday: Watch 12 Sports at 6, 10, and 11 p.m. to see the week’s three standout players.
🏈 Thursday: Blitz 12 Player of the Week winner is announced in 12 Sports.
🏈 Friday: Watch 12 News at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. and the Friday Night Blitz for an interview featuring the Blitz 12 Player of the Week.
The Friday Night Blitz airs weekly at 11:15 p.m. on WPRI 12, with continuing coverage right here on WPRI.com.
