Even if you weren’t a boating enthusiast, everyone was wearing these back then. And even if Y2K’s preppy styles aren’t *fully* back yet, boat shoes are still a practical and cute option. Lucky for you, Aldi is dropping some trendy canvas loafers that are very much boat shoes that look like a style from the viral brand, Hey Dude. And they’re a fifth of the price. From June 5 through June 11, Aldi stores will sell the Crane Men's or Ladies Canvas Loafer in their Aldi Finds section for only $12.99. They come in sizes 10-12 for Men and 6-9 for Ladies and look pretty stylish for a $13 pair of shoes. These loafers have the classic longer boat shoe look, with a sneaker-like bottom and structured top. This is made with a “lightweight canvas,” as the name suggests, and the bottom soles are ridged for better traction.Related: Aldi's New Stylish Tote Bag Is a Bogg Bag CopycatCrane Men's or Ladies Canvas Loafer, $12.99 at Aldi

These do come with laces, but they’re bungee laces, which are great for slipping shoes on and off while also allowing you to tighten them if needed. Like most of Aldi’s clothing or shoe items that feature men's and women’s styles, all colors aren’t available for both men's and women’s versions. In this case, the Crane Ladies’ Canvas Loafer comes in Light Grey and Aqua, As for the Crane Men’s Loafers, they come in Navy.

As stated above, these not only look like trendy boat shoes, they are almost identical to Hey Dude’s Wendy Stretch Canvas loafer, which are $64.99 and come in a handful of colors. They are made with a canvas upper part that is “comfortably cool” and elastic laces, like Aldi’s, along with a ridged bottom sole. Even the top of the shoe's structure looks similar. That being said, Hey Dude’s shoes do have a removable foam insole, which is a plus. Wendy Stretch Canvas, $64.99 at Hey Dude and DSW

Of course, the Hey Dude canvas loafers have their logo on the back, but other than that, they’re nearly the same as Aldi’s. And for $13, Aldi’s Crane Canvas Loafers are a good choice if you want a lightweight, comfortable shoe that comes in cute colors and scratches that early 2000s itch.
