Top-100 4-star WR Jordon Gidron considering summer return to NC State
Jordon Gidron’s recruitment ascended to new heights over the past few months, and he posted the track times this spring to warrant a meteoric rise up the class of 2026 rankings. The four-star receiver is a top-100 prospect now, and NC State has been recruiting him for months.
He picked up an offer from the Wolfpack last fall. NC State was the second Power Four school to extend a scholarship. Since then, Alabama, Georgia, Florida State and many others have all offered him.
The Columbia (S.C.) Ridge View High wide receiver, ranked No. 94 nationally and No. 1 in South Carolina’s sophomore class, established himself as one of the most heavily recruited prospects in the country. He’s taking a patient approach to the recruiting process.
“It’s going good,” Gidron told TheWolfpacker.com. “Just trying to get to different schools, build a connection with different coaches, see who I like and what I don’t like. It’s early, just trying to make connections and figure out my favorite school.”
Gidron continued to add excitement to his recruitment when he posted a 10.68 100-meter-dash time this spring. The rising junior took home several South Carolina 4A outdoor track state championships.
He visited a long list of Power Four programs this spring, stopping by Clemson, Auburn, South Carolina and a few other schools. The 6-2, 185-pound receiver visited NC State twice last fall— watching the Pack defeat VMI and North Carolina, but he did not make it back to campus in the spring.
Going into the summer, Gidron said Alabama, South Carolina, Clemson, Tennessee, NC State, Georgia and UNC are a few of the schools standing out to him. He’s considering a return to Raleigh soon.
“I might get up there this summer,” Gidron said.
The four-star pass catcher has already built a bond with wide receivers coach Joker Phillips, and he is working on strengthening that connection. Gidron remains interested in the Wolfpack thanks to the positive impression he took in from both of his previous visits.
“It seemed like a great place to be,” Gidron said. “They develop their players. I liked the facility and how close they are as a team.”
NC State has established itself as one of the early contenders here. The receiver is looking for a school that feels like home and a coaching staff that will help develop him into an NFL player.
During his sophomore season, Gidron caught 45 passes for 731 yards and 10 touchdowns. On3 considers him the No. 12 wide receiver in the nation.
