Telegram Game ‘Hamster Kombat’ Soars to 150 Million Players Amid TON Token High
The Telegram-based crypto game sensation, Hamster Kombat, has announced that its player base has exceeded 150 million users, surpassing the population of Russia.
The surge represents a 50% increase from just last week when the game celebrated reaching 100 million users.
To put it into perspective, nearly one in five Telegram users have signed up for the game, which offers real crypto rewards as players strive to build a hamster’s virtual crypto exchange.
The rewards in Hamster Kombat come in the form of a token airdrop scheduled for July.
Players who accumulate points within the game will be eligible for this airdrop.
The game operates as a mini-app within Telegram, eliminating the need for additional downloads.
The announcements channel for Hamster Kombat on Telegram has become the most popular channel on the app, boasting over 35 million subscribers.
Hamster Kombat Gains Popularity Across All Social Media Channels
Hamster Kombat has garnered significant interest not only on Telegram but across other platforms as well.
The game’s YouTube channel currently has an impressive 23 million subscribers, while its Twitter account boasts 7.7 million followers.
Both accounts have experienced substantial growth in their following over the past week.

The success of Hamster Kombat can be largely attributed to its spiritual predecessor, Notcoin, another Telegram game backed by cryptocurrency.
Notcoin gained a loyal following through a token airdrop to players, which generated significant excitement.
The airdrop took place on May 16, and the token, NOT, has since experienced remarkable growth, reaching a market capitalization of over $2 billion last week.
According to CoinGecko, NOT is currently among the top 60 cryptocurrencies by market cap.
In addition to the success of Notcoin, Toncoin, the native token of Telegram’s preferred blockchain, The Open Network (TON), has also benefited from the popularity of Hamster Kombat.
Toncoin reached an all-time high price of $8.13 on Friday, marking a 26% increase in the last two weeks.
The thriving accomplishments of Notcoin and Hamster Kombat have attracted the attention of other aspiring games.
Two new Telegram-based games, Tapswap and Yescoin, have recently announced their plans to launch on TON, with similar token airdrop ambitions.
TON Blockchain Surpasses Ethereum in Daily Active Addresses
Telegram’s “The Open Network” (TON) blockchain has been consistently outperforming Ethereum in terms of daily active addresses throughout this month.
According to Delphi Digital, a prominent firm, TON’s daily active addresses have surpassed Ethereum, attributing this achievement to Telegram’s colossal user base of 900 million.
Last week, Telegram launched a new digital payment feature dubbed “Telegram Stars,” allowing users to make in-app purchases.
The ‘Stars’ is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
The move comes with the recent surge in Telegram’s mini apps with millions of users joining every day.
Earlier this month, Hamster Kombat announced gaining millions of subscribers and becoming the No.1 channel on Telegram in terms of users.
More recently, Pixelverse, a Web3 Telegram-based gaming ecosystem, raised $5.5 million in a recent capital raise.
