Grand View Health Awarded $1 Million For Transformative Expansion
SELLERSVILLE, PA —Grand View Health has been awarded $1 million toward the expansion of its Pavilion at Grand View, which includes the construction of four specialized patient-at-risk rooms within the new emergency department.Additionally, further improvements including covered drop-off areas, private waiting rooms, 28 private treatment rooms, cutting-edge neurological services, including telestroke and teleneurology consultations, 52 new private smart rooms, and 10 state-of-the-art operating rooms, were made possible, improving patient comfort and privacy and significantly increasing surgical capacity.The grant was secured by U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) through the Community Project Funding grant program and is part of the Congressman's ongoing mission to elevate and improve access to top-quality healthcare services in the 1st Congressional District.The CPF was introduced by Fitzpatrick into the FY23 Consolidated Appropriations Act as a part of the Community Project Funding program — an initiative that allows members of Congress to target federal funds towards projects and programs within their congressional districts that will address the most significant needs facing the communities they represent.Through the Community Project Funding Request process for the 118th Congress, which was included in the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, Fitzpatrick successfully secured more than $27.5 million in funding for 14 transformative community projects that will directly benefit First District constituents. Additionally, Fitzpatrick secured over $19 million in CPF Funding for 13 projects FY23 and over $6.6 million in CPF funding for 10 projects in FY22. “The need to expand and improve resources for behavioral health patients continues to grow. The construction of the Pavilion at Grand View Health provided a unique opportunity to design and build a patient-at-risk unit, based on best practices to address these needs," said Doug Hughes, RN, BSN, MBA President and CEO, Grand View Health.
