Pretty Caribbean island to get huge new waterpark with 19 slides and 800ft lazy river

A TINY island in the Bahamas welcomes just a few thousands guests a day – and it’s about to get a new waterpark.

The beautiful Bahamas island has white sandy beaches and bright blue seas where cruise passengers can depart.
They can and chill on the sand or do activities like snorkelling, watersports, ziplining, or play on the putting green.
Next year there will be even more to do as the Great Tides Waterpark is set to open.
Plans for the new attraction include an 800-foot-long ‘lazy ‘dynamic’ river – a faster lazy river – as well as a swim-up bar.
The park will also have an illuminated grotto that gives off bioluminescent vibes.
Tidal Tower is the part of the waterpark that anyone seeking thrills will want to head to.
This area will have eight of the island’s 19 waterslides including two drop slides which will be the tallest on the island.
Alongside it will be dual racing slides, body slides and tube slides that send riders through spirals that change direction.
Cliffside Cove will be more for families as there are racing slides and the option to try out a four-person family flume.
Around the waterpark there will be cliff-jumping experiences too from platforms that are 10 and 15 feet high.

The other waterslides are much smaller and will be in the splash zone for children.
For anyone wanting to relax after spending time in the full-on waterpark, there will be cabanas that will be available for passengers to rent for a fee.
The Jet Karts Water Track has been described as the “mini aquatic race course with jet karts” which essentially combines go-karting with jetskiing.
David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line said: “Great Stirrup Cay has always been an amazing part of the Norwegian Cruise Line guest experience and continues to be one of our highest rated destinations.
“With each phase of our enhancements, we’re bringing ashore more of what our guests love about sailing with NCL.”

Other additions to the island that have already been announced include a brand-new heated pool.
These will have private cabanas and villas, free sun loungers and two swim-up bars.
The island is also planning to build a new pier that will allow for two ships to dock.
This will help passengers get on board as previously, cruise ships had to use smaller boats to get visitors to shore.
An additional service to make life easier for visitors is the new tram service that will cover the island.

And here’s more on the new ‘theme park at sea’ cruise ship to set sail with world’s first waterslide rollercoaster & 10-storey helter skelter.
