We’ve come to expect the unexpected in 2025, especially when it comes to celebrity dating. Almost exactly one month after Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry ended their nine-year relationship, Perry has already sparked romance rumors with someone new, and we really didn’t expect this.
In case you missed it, Perry and the former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were seen out at dinner together at the swanky Le Violon restaurant in Montreal.
It was all obtained in a video through TMZ, which shows the pair in a thoughtful, deep conversation (and keeping their eyes on one another the whole time).

Well, Katy is currently on tour in Canada, so it makes sense that they’d hang out there. But…are they pals? Are they dating? Well, the internet is exploding with theories right now about what’s going on. So, we did some digging and we can’t find any instance of them being pals beforehand, or even conversing, despite running in the same philanthropic circles.
While the chef who served them told TMZ that he only got friendly vibes from the two, the internet is convinced Perry and Trudeau are the next unexpected couple of 2025.

As we mentioned, Perry only became single a month ago after she and Bloom called their engagement off, weeks after the breakup rumors started. As for Trudeau, he split up with his wife of nearly 20 years, Sophie Grégoire, back in Aug 2023; and has kept very private with his dating life since.
