Why did Ruby Stokes leave Bridgerton?
Following Bridgerton season 2, Ruby Stokes revealed she was leaving the hit Netflix series.
Ruby decided to depart her role as Francesca Bridgerton to star in Lockwood & Co and The Burning Girls.
While discussing her exit, she told Whattowatch: “I just felt it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down!
“Working on Bridgerton was wonderful and it was incredible to be part of a show like that.
“Leaving was always going to be a difficult choice, but something about Lucy [Lockwood & Co] spoke to me.
“It was a chance to explore a very different character and I’ve learned a great deal playing a young adult at the helm of a show.
She later explained to 1883 magazine: “The thing I miss the most about that show [Bridgerton] is the people.
“They are incredible, generous, kind, hilarious and genuine. They’re great.
“They are just really, really good people, both the crew and the cast.”
When did Hannah Dodd replace Ruby in Bridgerton?
On May 12, 2022, it was announced Hannah Dodd was replacing Ruby as Francesca Bridgerton.
Regarding Netflix’s choice to cast her, Hannah shared with The Wrap: “I was terrified.
“It took me ages to not feel like I was on some sort of fan experience where I was just being taken around the set and having a look.
“It felt so bizarre, being introduced to all of these people.

“Now I can’t imagine not knowing these people or being part of it.
“There’s definitely a rhythm and a dynamic to the show, so I tried to absorb that as much as possible. I was definitely learning as we went along.”
When teasing fans with what to expect from her portrayal, Hannah expressed to Tudum: “Francesca has been preparing for [her debut].
“Filming it was absolutely terrifying because it was quite early on in production.
“There’s definitely an air of innocence about her. Debutantes are so young.
“Although they prepared for these moments for their entire lives, you can’t replicate a ball or suitors that you’ve never met before coming up to you.
“You don’t know how those conversations are going to go.”
