Trump Sentencing for Hush Money Delayed Until After Election

Clary/ReutersFormer President Donald Trump’s request to have his sentencing delayed for his Stormy Daniels hush money case until after the election was granted by Supreme Court of New York Judge Juan Merchan on Friday, according to a four-page letter. Trump was found guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records at a May trial. Trump had requested “an adjournment of his sentencing, which was scheduled for Sept. 18, 2024, until after the 2024 presidential election,” claiming the court give him “adequate time to ‘assess and pursue’ appellate options... to avoid the potential ‘politically prejudicial’ impact that a public sentencing could have on him and his prospects in the upcoming election.”Read more at The Daily Beast.
